How long will my order take to be processed?2019-05-15T09:58:03+02:00

Once your Baby For You order has been received we will send you emails to keep you up-to-date on the status of your order. Once a courier tracking number has been issued you can track your parcel on the link provided in our email to you.

We aim to process and confirm orders within 1 – 2 days. Please note that manual EFT payments could delay this process as orders will only be processed once the payment has cleared.

Where the products are in stock we aim to get your goods into the next available courier collection after your order is confirmed and paid for.

Where the products are out of stock we will keep you advised of expected shipping dates. The delay is usually only a few days while we wait for suppliers to ship to us.

Deliveries are usually made within 1-3 working days after they’ve been uploaded by the courier. We deliver to your door (office or home) anywhere in South Africa using The Courier Guy  and Aramex services.

 

Rest assured that we respect your confidentiality and our parcels are always discretely packaged. All orders are packaged in plain packaging & bank statements/shipping documents will be labelled as Russell Health Agencies ensuring your privacy.

What is the Magnesium tingle ?2019-05-02T20:29:33+02:00

When using the BetterYou Magnesium range of sprays and bath salts/flakes your skin may tingle.

The most important fact to remember is that this isn’t an allergic reaction to the magnesium, as magnesium is naturally found within the body and is vital to good health.

This can actually be a sign the body’s cellular magnesium levels are low. This tingling sensation is caused by the magnesium, which is a large molecule being rapidly absorbed through the epidermis.

We recommend using a small amount per area and increasing gradually. Also if you have dry or broken skin it may heighten the sensation so avoid these areas. This reaction will decrease as your body’s cellular magnesium levels increase.

 

To reduce the reaction we recommend the following techniques:-

  • Apply only a small amount to any individual skin area. Massage in well.
  • Apply after a shower onto wet skin, while pores are open.
  • Little, but often, is the key. Massage in and wait for a minute or so then try a little more.

The key is to apply transdermal magnesium wherever it feels comfortable. The magnesium, once absorbed into the skin, is circulated around the body so there is no direct need to focus just on a single area. However, once your magnesium levels begin to rise you will find areas that were sensitive before, are no longer.

 

Magnesium Flakes can provide a gentle solution to raising your levels. Added to a bath or foot bath they can provide a lower concentration of the solution that will still help increase your magnesium levels.

At Baby For You we try to help you in your journey to pregnancy by offering a range of quality self-test home-based products to help you measure various aspects of your fertility to increase your chances of conception.
Our easy-to-use fertility tests are able to be performed in the privacy and comfort of your own home.

 

Firstly, to determine ovulation have a look at our Ovulation tests  and the Basal Body Thermometer/ BBT on offer.

  • Ovulation urine tests come in a selection of test strips / cassettes / devices. Test strips are cost-effective while cassettes and devices are easy-to-use and ideal for beginners. Ovulation urine tests / OPKs predict ovulation by highlighting the surge of Lutenising Hormone which occurs in 24-48 hours before ovulation.
  • The Saliva Ovulation test can be used anytime of the day and at the size of a lipstick it can be taken anywhere discretely. This spit test helps predict ovulation by showing the progression from pebble patterns to the fertile fern pattern.
  • BBT thermometers track your daily temperature and these patterns recorded over a few months help you to establish when you usually ovulate in your cycle and these patterns can then help you predict future ovulation timing.

To check if you are pregnant have a look at our pregnancy tests which also come in a selection of test strips / cassettes / devices. Again the cassettes & devices are easy-to-use and ideal for beginners while strip tests are ideal for regular testers due to cost-effectiveness. Results often able to be read within a mere few minutes. Sample cups and droppers included for free where necessary.

 

We also offer a FSH / Follicle Stimulating Hormone test – high FSH levels during the reproductive years can be an indicator of infertility. Therefore this can be an important indicator test which may require further investigation by your Dr.

When do I take the fertility tests?2019-01-30T19:33:34+02:00

We offer a wide range of at-home tests that measure different aspects of both his & her fertility. As such, these different tests have different instructions for use regarding timing.

 

Ovulation tests:

OPK / urine ovulation tests should be done at the same time each day starting about 5 days before expected ovulation. Do not use the first specimen of the morning after waking up. This is because the ovulation hormone (Luteinizing Hormone / LH) is made in your body early in the morning it might not appear in your urine until the afternoon.

The ideal time to do the Ovulation Predictor urine tests is in the afternoon about 2pm, but testing can take place anytime from 10am to early evening. Reduce your liquid intake for about 2 hours before testing as a dilute sample could affect the test.

Saliva ovulation tests can be taken at any time during the day and every day of the month if you wish. Ideally test your saliva first thing in the morning. Do not test right after eating, drinking or brushing your teeth – wait an hour or two as this could affect the test result.

Ovulation testing should start about 5 days before you think you will ovulate. Please see package inserts for detailed information on which day to start testing as this depends on your average cycle length.

 

Basal Body Temperature / BBT :

Take your temperature before rising in the morning. Please note that any activity can raise your Basal Body Temperature. It’s a good idea to keep your BBT Thermometer, Fertility Tracking Chart and a pen / pencil in your bedside cabinet for ease of use.

 

Pregnancy test:

Most home pregnancy tests are capable of detecting pregnancy as early as 1 day after a missed period. Test your urine during your first morning bathroom visit when the concentration of the HCG / Human Chorionic Gonadotropin hormone is at its highest.

 

FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone) test:

Typically measured on day 3 counted from last menstruation. First morning urine specimen is preferred for this FSH Test , since it generally contains the highest concentration of the hormone.

 

Home Sperm Count Test:

Before using this home sperm test refrain from any sexual activity for 3-7 days. This ensures that the volume and quality of sperm is at its peak & ensures the test is accurate.

We will gladly replace any damaged or faulty goods.

If the wrong product has been supplied, or if the product is faulty or damaged, we will exchange it on condition that you return the product/s within 5 days of receipt. We will make a reasonable effort to exchange the product upon receipt of the returned products, but if replacement is not possible, we will refund the purchase price including delivery cost upon receipt of the returned products.

Unfortunately as these are medical devices we are unable to accept returns of items incorrectly ordered even if they are still in the original packaging.

You will be liable and charged for all order errors as a result of incorrectly specifying requirements, omitting details, supplying incorrect details or selecting an incorrect option if we incur any expense as a result. Cancelled orders on the e-commerce facility will be refunded after deduction of a 10% charge for administration costs.

We reserve the right to cancel an order for which payment has already been received. This may occur if stock is insufficient and will only occur after we have contacted you to discuss the issues. You will receive a full refund with no deductions for orders cancelled by us.
